Internet activism no longer marginalized, story at eleven.
Ned Lamont has broken the $100k barrier on ActBlue!
As of this moment (5:01 EST) $100,877.65
And I think it has a lot to do with this challenge from LamontBlog:
Yesterday, Ned Lamont's ActBlue numbers flew past 1,500 donors, past 1,600 donors, and is now up to <strike>1,614</strike> <strike>1,662</strike> 1,701 individual donors, for a total of <strike>$92,008.52</strike> <strike>$95,351.53</strike> $97,251.59 as of 1PM ET.
All of this without any institutional online support (i.e. MoveOn, DFA). This is purely the blogs - and Ned's great announcement speech - at work.
There's no reason we can't get Ned past $100k today.
Push it real good.
Or it could be Ned's awesome speech yesterday.
Also of note: Two videos of news coverage from Ned Lamont's announcement are available for download at the Ned Lamont Resource. Shelly Sindland's Fox 61 Coverage will be up there soon (I hope!)
PoliticsTV has a highlight reel streaming on the main page from Ned's announcement yesterday. See also this diary.
Many apologies, I do not know why the text with strike tags is not crossed out.
